In 1912, Kodak established one of the first industrial research laboratories. Today, Kodak employs greater than 5,000 engineers and scientists of which more than 600 are certified PhDs. With an annual research and development budget equal to roughly 6% of revenue, Kodak is dedicated to driving growth in future technologies including the displays industry.

Holding more than 10,000 active patents, approximately 210 inventors hold over 20 individual patents, nine of which are prestigious inventors exceeding 100 each with Kodak.
