Apple has started the development of the second generation of iPad. Sources of the component industry (digitimes) believe that Apple will use an OLED Display and the same design concept as ro the iPhone 4G/HD.
At the moment there is to less production capacity but the major panel makers are investing a lot of money to ramp up new OLED production lines. That means that the prices are expected to drop and make it more price friendly for the iPad in 2011. At the moment a 9.7 inch LTPS LCD Panel costs about 60-70 dollars, a 9.7 inch AMOLED Display about 500 Dollar.
