To compete against Samsung Mobile Display which has over 90 percent of the small and medium size AMOLED market, AUO and CMI start to sell AMOLED panels in 2012.
To reach this goal CMI use its 3.5G LTPS TFT LCD capacity to produce organic light emitting diode panels. The goal is to deliver the first products in the third quarter 2012.
Also AUO want to introduce four different sized AMOLED panels in 2012.
The chinese companies BOE and Tianma ramp up a 5.5G LTPS productione line to mass produce panels in end 2012.
