Osram introduce two new Orbeos OLED-lighting panels.
OSRAM is progressing the development of OLED technology one step further towards mass application. Both panels are mirrored and warm-white – one is rectangular, the other one round. The Orbeos product family is already in series production. In this way, OSRAM meets lighting designers’ desire for planning certainty. The new shapes increase the creative scope.

Two new formats

With the PirOLED designer luminaire it’s all about the light of the future.The organic light diodes are waferthin surface light sources and therefore open up completely new design options. With the PirOLED.

OSRAM now offers a commercially available OLED and LED luminaire for the first time. The concept comprises five mobile ORBEOS panels reflective from behind, woven in a double helix of brushed aluminium that catch the directed light of the LEDs in the base.

At the Lightfair 2010 in Las Vegas Osram shows also their ORBEOS the first OLED Lighting Product from Osram.

The new ORBEOS OLED panel is an ultra-thin organic LED that emits pleasant, diffused light while consuming a fraction of the power used by conventional light sources.

The Orbeos is the first OLED light source from Osram Opto Semiconductors for premium quality functional lighting.

For a few days Osram showcased there first OLED light source Orbeos. Now we have more pictures about Orbeos and also the first lamps and applications with Orbeos.

The ORBEOS OLED panel has a round lamp surface of 80mm diameter, is only 2.1mm thick and weighs 24g. These limited dimensions ensure plenty of different usage options. With an efficiency of 25lm/W, the panel beats that of conventional halogen lamps.
