LG show LH95 the world’s slimmest LED LCD TV at the CES-2009

LG Electronics will unveil the world’s slimmest LED LCD TV LH95 at the upcoming CES 2009 held in Las Vegas.

Featuring 24.8mm thickness, the LH95 supports 240Hz TrueMotion Drive technology and 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Sonys XEL-1 the first OLED-Televsion does have a contrast about 1.000.000:1. The LH95 does have a dynamic contrast about 2.000.000:1!

According to the company, this LED LCD TV is 2009 CES Innovation Award winners in the Display category. No word about price, resolution!

Sonys new Walkman with a 3.3 inch AMOLED Display

Sony want to introduce the first touchscreen Walkman with a AMOLED Display. Sony want to show this 16 GB and 32 GB varieties at the CES-2009 in Las Vegas.

Sony’s new Walkman will also be touchscreen and WQVGA. The touchscreen will not be the usual LCD, but a brilliant three inch OLED with a contrast ratio around 10k. OLED display capabilities in terms of color reproduction are far beyond the average LCD, which means 100% color reproduction across a wider viewing angle.

Samsung to demonstrate a 50 inch OLED TV at the CES-2009?

In an magazin Samsung’s, Vice President in charge of Flat Panel Development HS Kim, said that while Samsung was one of the leaders in OLED development, it would not sell the technology until it could be made at a price the consumer was willing to pay.

But to our surprise he also said that “We can make larger displays, and we may demonstrate a 50in OLED TV at the CES show in January, though we haven’t decided yet,” he said, “But how much more would you be willing to pay for such a set?

Canon clear to launch cost competitive SED-TVs

Canon, the Japanese consumer electronics group, is clear to launch a new type of television after winning a patent lawsuit that has delayed its progress for more than three years.

Nasdaq-listed Applied Nanotech, which had sued the Japanese company for illegally sublicensing its patents, announced that it had decided not to appeal to the US Supreme Court. “It would probably be a futile effort,” said Douglas Baker, Applied Nanotech’s chief financial officer.
