Panasonic and Idemitsu Kosan ramp up joint venture for OLED lighting panels

Idemitsu Kosan and Pansonic Electric Works or PEW announced today that the two companies will ramp up a joint venture for developing, manufacturing and marketing OLED-Lighting panels. The name of the new company will be Panasonic Idemitsu OLED lighting.The new company starts in April 2011 and will bring high-quality OLED lighting panel products that are highly efficient and excellent in brightness and color rendering to the market quickly to promote sales to lighting module and lighting equipment manufacturers.
It will pursue development of an OLED lighting market and make every effort to establish a solid position in the market.

Idemitsu aquire 33 Percent of Global OLED Technology LLC

Idemitus Kosan a japanese oil refiner announced that they signed an agreement to aquire 32.73 percent of Global OLED Technology LLC. Global OLED Technology is a US company which have over 2000 patents related to the OLED Technology.

Global OLED was established by LG Corp. of South Korea in December 2009 to acquire patents from Eastman Kodak Co. , according to Idemitsu.
