Dell shows off their concept laptop with a super-slim 2mm thick OLED display – the Studio XPS 16 – at the CES. The OLED screen makes this gorgeous laptop super sharp and fast with its a high contrast ratio (10,000:1), vivid and impressive black levels.

Today I spoke with some Asus guy from the System Product Design Department, and he told me that Asus want to introduce a Notebook with a OLED Display by the end of the year, or in the first quarter 2010. He told me Asus want to be the first company which introduce some Notebook with an OLED Display. In the lab Asus work very hard to introduce a notebook with an OLED display. He told us also that he don´t believe that Asus establish a AMOLED in the EEE PC serie. The reason is easy a Notebook with an OLED is very expensive and so Asus want to bring out a upscale notebook with an OLED Display.

The year 2008 is still over and we think it was a great year for the OLED technology and market. Today we look in to the future and we show you the Prime Gaming Laptop concept designed by Kyle Cherry.It features three collapsible screens that offer a wide viewing panel. When open, it has a 32:10 aspect for better in game visibility. It closes to the size of a 13″ notebook and opens to a supper wide aspect 26″ notebook. The main screen is a 10″ concealed OLED screen with 16:10 aspect. Both the left and the right screens are Aux OLED screens with 8:10 aspect.

Ho Kyoon Chung presented Samsung-SDIs OLED panel roadmap and said, “OLED panels have opened the new era of organic optoelectronics. Not only displays but also new applications such as OLED lighting systems, organic electro-luminescent power generators and organic sensors will emerge in the near future.”

Today Samsung SDI shows a OLED Laptop wit ha 12.1 inch AMOLED Display.
