NHK showcase a new flexible OLED Display prototype

NHK a public japanese broadcaster showcase a new flexible OLED Display. NHK introduce this new prototype at the R&D day in Tokyo this week.

Compared to a prototype that was displayed two years ago, the most recent one benefits from a more reliable manufacturing process. The flexible OLED has 5 inches with a QVGA (320×240 pixel) resolution.

As a result, the latest screen has visibly fewer defects and bad pixels than the 2009 prototype.

NHK show a new improved flexible OTFT OLED panel

The NHK Science & Technology show a new improved flexible OLED panel with OTFT technology. The new prototype does have a four times better resolution as the last one.
The flexible OLED has a screen size of 5 inches a pixel count of 320×240 (QVGA) and a resolution of 80ppi.
In its 318?m-wide pixel, a red, green and blue subpixels are transversely arranged. Its frame frequency is 60Hz.

NHK show 5.8-inch flexible OLED which is 0.3 mm thick

The Science & Technical Research Laboratories (STRL) of Japan Broadcasting Corp (NHK) are announcing that the company are showing a 5.8 inch flexible OLED panel at their exhibition that the company will hold from May 21 to 24, 2009.
