AUO and Idemitsu announced today that both companies want to ramp up a strategic alliance includes technological collaboration to develop high-performance OLED displays and OLED-related patents. LG is production ready for their prototype production line in July 2012. Samsung is also ready in mid 2012 to start the V1 6th 8G production line to produce the 55 inch KN55ES9600 OLED-Tv which are showcased at CES-2012. LG Display plans to convert a existing LCD line to a OLED mass production line. We already report about this but now we have more informations about that. To ramp up a new 8.5G OLED production line will cost 2.5 times more than to convert a existing LCD line. LGs OLED-Tv is based on Oxide-TFT [...]
