Plextronics,announced today that they signed an OLED lighting distribution agreement with Sanyo Chemical Industries, Ltd.
Sanyo will distribute Plexcore OC inks for the OLED lighting market in japan.

Plextronics announced today that its Plexcore® OC NQ ink has been integrated into Universal Display Corporation’s P2OLED™ solution-processed, phosphorescent OLED technology to assist in achieving lower operating voltage and longer lifetime in test devices. The latest developments were announced by Universal Display Corporation at the International Display Manufacturing Conference (IDMC 2011) held April 18 – 21 at the Taipei International Convention Center in Taipei, Taiwan. This is the second time in less than five months that UDC has announced breakthrough performance improvements in its P2OLED™ program that include the use of Plexcore® OC NQ ink.

Plextronics announced today that its Plexcore® OC NQ ink is now available for limited sampling, with more broad availability expected in 2011. The non-aqueous-based Hole Injection Layer (HIL) ink augments the company’s existing aqueous-based HIL, and is geared specifically for solution processible phosphorescent OLED emitters. The
company also expects to introduce ink-jet (printable) inks for limited sampling early in 2011. This is a major step for large, and cheap OLED-Television panels end 2011.

Novaled AG, a leader in energy saving and long living OLEDs (Organic Light Emitting Diodes), and Plextronics, Inc., an international company that specializes in conductive organic inks for printed lighting, solar and other electronics, announced today that they have agreed to jointly develop doped and solution processed organic materials for OLED applications. OLED technology is expected to become a major ingredient of flat displays and drive a new era lighting innovation with its flexible design and energy efficiency advantages.

The new $6 million manufacturing line at Plextronics Inc. in Harmar is designed to provide a link between the laboratories where that technology is being perfected and the manufacturers that eventually will produce it for consumers. The company known for its “electronic ink” technology will mark the opening of the development, or “D” line with a ceremony today.
