Novaled announced it has developed the world’s most power-efficient fluorescent white OLED structures – achieving 36 lumen per Watt (36lm/W). Using its proprietary organic materials and a new flat light outcoupling method of extraction, Novaled increased OLED device light emission by more than 80-percent, with good color rendering, and also improved the angular dependence of the light emitted. Novaled’s new power-efficient fluorescent white PIN OLEDs result in lower manufacturing costs and meet the standards for commercial lighting applications, making them ideal for OLED lamps and luminaires for general and design lighting.

In an Strategic Seminar for advanced industrial OLED, Han Chang UK from LG Display announced that white OLED can overcome the limitations of RGB independent patterning (FMM).

The cockpit of the Lexus 2010 RX has grown to include a dual-zone layout, featuring the ‘display zone’ and the ‘operation zone’. The ‘display zone’ centers around an eight-inch navigation and information display set back into the dash for visibility, while a white OLED adds multi-function information on a separate screen.
