CDT wins grant to develop EDA for organic electronics
Cambridge Display Technology Ltd. (Cambridge, England) a developer of polymer light emitting diode (P-OLED) technology, has been awarded a grant of $500,000 to develop electronic design automation software (EDA) for use in the application of organic thin-film transistors.
The grant has been awarded by the U.K. Department of Trade and Industry to a consortium including CDT and Silvaco International Inc. (Santa Clara, Calif.), a supplier of technology computer aided design (TCAD) and EDA simulation software.
"This is an important stepping stone in the transition of low-cost organic electronics from the laboratory onto the shop floor," said David Fyfe, chief executive officer of CDT, in a statement.
