Chimei Innolux showcase a High resolution AMOLED display technology demonstrates low power consumption, wide view angle advantages.

The newest high-end mobile device display technology (LCD and AMOLED “TRUEOLED” ) and multi-touch panel technology at FPD International 2011 to be held in Yokohama, Japan from October 26 to 28. Lately, the popularity of smart mobile devices has changed the way consumers communicate and interact. In response to greater demand for better user interfaces and image quality, CMI has endeavored to develop high-end mobile device display technology that will satisfy consumers’ requirements. This year, CMI will showcase a series of “high-resolution/ high-performance” and “wide-view-angle” mobile devices and specialized displays, including the 4.5-inch 720HD rubbing-less IPS panel for smart phone, mass production-ready 7-inch, 8-inch and 10.1-inch high-resolution IPS wide-view panels for tablet, and 8-inch and 10.25-inch wide-view panels for vehicle use.
These true resolution panels can be manufactured without utilizing precision mask for EL deposition that has the advantages of low cost and high yield. Furthermore, white OLED design is less power-consuming than conventional design when the user is browsing a website with white background. With a very wide view angle, the panel still emits 60% of vertical luminance even at 45° of viewing angle.

The 3.5-inch and 3.0-inch high resolution AMOLED “TRUEOLED” display technology showcased at the exhibition utilizes white OLED design with color filter.

The company show also a 1.1mm super narrow bezel 720HD IPS panel demonstrates combined design and technology strengths
CMI has demonstrated capabilities of improving the size of panel module. Introducing this 1.1mm-bezel 720HD IPS panel, CMI effectively reduces the size of panel module that meets the requirement of smart phone users for narrow bezel. Furthermore, the gate driver IC is not required by embedding gate driver on glass panel that can effectively reduce panel bezel, maintain low power consumption and increase flexibility in designing the consumer mobile device display.

1.1 mm bezel should become even more important on smaller devices. Bring out 1.6 inch screens with 1.1mm bezels and you have a great potential wristwatch, such as the i’m Watch. Wide bezels on those small devices kill their look.
