CMEL become new AMOLED production line

CMO announced it has invested another NT$645 million (US$21.4 million) in its OLED subsidiary Chi Mei EL (CMEL), according to industry sources.

CMEL plans to invest another NT$1 billion for a new AMOLED production line and this plan has received the full support of CMO, stated the sources, which noted that CMEL's current capitalization is NT$2.05 billion.

Currently, CMEL mainly produces AMOLED panels and only mass produces small size ones, stated the sources, noting that the company also continues to introduce medium-size panels in sizes of 4.3-inch or larger.
