Chi Mei EL Corporation (CMEL), a subsidiary of Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO), has secured orders for 2.4-inch active-matrix (AM) OLED (organic light-emitting diode) panels from a European handset maker with shipments to kick off in September, according to today’s Chinese-language Commercial Times.
The first batch of the orders will be for 10,000 units, the paper noted, adding that shipments will gradually increase after the handsets hit the market.
Meanwhile, CMEL is sampling 2- and 2.2-inch OLED panels to other European and Korean customers, noted the paper.
