Last year we wrote about Philip's "You Fade to Light" Lighting installation in London wherein they used a total of 1064 Philips white Lumiblade OLEDS that works as a mirror and a curtain of lights. Recently, Philips announced that a version of the mirrorwall will be released for purchase in limited quantities. This version will be called Lumiblade Reflections.

Scientists from Philips Research and the Eindhoven University of Technology (TUe) have developed a novel method for accurately measuring the active layer in organic light-emitting diode (OLED) lighting. This is an important step forward for OLED device optimization and efficiency that is determined by the position of the very narrow zone in which the light is generated. The findings were published online in Nature Photonics on Sunday 14 March.

Philips announced their plans to renovate their online store specifically created to cater to OLED lighting demands.

Dietrich Bertram, head of Philip's OLED operations in Aachen says: 'All feedback has been good. No complaints. And no one has said there is no place for OLED lighting, when comparing with LED lamps for instance. But someone did say the price was too expensive.'

In cooperation with Philips, the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT is developing an innovative, cost-efficient process for applying conductor paths to OLEDs.
