Samsung's Plans on OLED Development and Production
While Sony has declared that they are going to stop selling OLED TVs in Japan, Samsung has announced their South Korean factory will accelerate the commercialization of OLED notebooks that will be launched this coming May and economical OLED panels.
A few days before, Samsung also announced their plans of re-injecting 866 million euros to develop a new 5.5 generation line of OLED panels. The plant in Chungcheong province (Tangjeong) will be producing 1,320 mm × 1,500 mm OLED panels.
Samsung and LG Display show AMOLED TV at IFA-2009
