As a way of celebrating the holidays and by remembering the gigantic company’s green living ideas throughout the year 2009, GE designed a Santa Sleigh fully equipped with green technologies that they have designed. The Sleigh is also designed to have a new OLED lighting technology not only for Santa’s convenience but also for our planet.

The Red OLED lighting is placed in front of the sleigh to serve as headlights and ultimately a substitute to Rudolph’s red nose that guides Santa on his way to bring gifts to those kids who have been nice.

It is intended to work on ultra thin batteries. To make this possible, GE is teaming up with Israel’s Power Paper the makers of the paper thin batteries that will be used to power the lights. These ultra thin batteries are designed to be built-in into the thin OLED lights in order to bring this idea to life and make illumination possible in remote areas where electricity is unavailable.
