LePhone: Lenovo’s First Smartphone

Lenovo shows off their first smartphone at the CES 2010. The “LePhone” is andoird-based, 12 mm thick, 60 mm wide and sports a clean and shiny design. Further, it has a gorgeous 3.7 inch 800×480 OLED touch screen.

At its left side, LePhone has a nine-pin connector (with a magnetic cover) that allows users to add peripherals like the Lenovo docking station which includes an extra battery, QWERTY keyboard and speakers. This turns the phone into a neat looking handheld clamshell when used.
Full details about the phone are not yet available but here are its other known features:

  • Running on Google Android 1.6 but the final version will be running on Android 2
  • WCDMA radio
  • WiFi
  • Bluetooth
  • GPS
  • Two cameras (3 MP and a camera for video calls
  • Snapdragon processor

The LePhone will be released in China this year. When will it arrive in the US market? Unknown.
