LG starts production of 55 inch OLED-Tv in July 48.000 devices per month



LG Display announced today that they plan to start the production of the 55 inch OLED-Television device 55EM9600 in July. The production capacity on the prototype production 8G line will be 48.000 devices per month. LG invest 4 trillion won this year in the OLED technology. In the third quarter 2012 LG decide if the company invest in a 8G full production line.
LG will also review to recycle existing LCD production lines and move to a OLED-panel production line.

LGs OLED-Tv is based on Oxide-TFT white OLED with color filters RGBW. The response time is 0,02 ms instead of 2-4 milliseconds of an LED-Tv.
