Microemissive Displays Start Commercial Production of Polymer OLED Displays
Vitex systems leading technology developer, licensor and engineering service provider for thin-film encapsulation and moisture barrier films used in flexible electronic products and displays, today announced that its customer and licensee, Microemissive Displays (AIM: MED.L) of Edinburgh, Scotland, has commenced volume production and commercial shipment of its leading-edge polymer-based OLED microdisplays. Today signals an important milestone for Vitex in its effort toward full-fledged commercialization of OLED displays leveraging the company’s proprietary BarixTM thin-film encapsulation and Barix resin system material.
The cooperation between Vitex and MED began last year. Earlier this year, ANS has established a full service center in Dresden, Germany to service MED and other customers interested in pursing thin film encapsulation for OLEDs, thin film solar cells and other organic electronics.
