We might be able to commercialize an OLED TV in 2010 to 2012.
This is the main message from the Flat TV Panel roadmap from Hitachi.

Hitachi Ltd indicated a roadmap of its ultrathin TV products at a flat-panel TV business presentaion Feb 8, 2008. According to the roadmap, the company will release 35mm-thick PDP TV product in 2009 and 10mm-thick or slimmer models in 2010 to 2012. Although having introduced ultrathin LCD TVs ahead of PDP TVs in real, Hitachi indicated that it can make PDP TVs slimmer than LCD TVs in the future. Explaining why, the company said, "Unlike LCDs, PDPs don't require backlights because they emit light by themselves. We can make PDPs slimmer as they only require a panel and circuits. LCDs can be made no slimmer than around 15mm."

Another main message is that Hitachi wants to introduce the Wooo mobile Phone in 2008 with a OLED-Display.
