Art Lebedev announced in his Blog that the keypad (Optimus Pultius) will be released under the name Optimus Optimus Aux.
Optimus Aux a 15-keys addition to any keyboard. To be used with the Maximus or with any other non-display keyboard.
Optimus Pultius uses the same principles as Maximus, has the same display keys and the same set of ports on the back (using one instead of two additional USB hub slots).
Buttons can be used to launch different apps, programmed with specific gaming controls, or set to trigger macros, whether regularly repeated in-app tasks or a series of different apps. Alternatively you could use it as a mere numeric keypad, which would seem something of a shame.
Optimus Aux should be availabe end 2008 or at the first quarter 2009.
