Philips showcased the world largest OLED light installtion named Living Shapes!

Lumiblade Living Shapes is based on an ingenious modular design. Instead of having to link hundreds of OLEDs together one by one, users rely on integrated OLED panels. Each panel is fitted with 16 Lumiblade OLEDs measuring 5 cm x 5.5 cm. Designed as a plug-and-play system, numerous panels can be arranged either side by side or on top of one another, thus quickly creating an illuminated surface of several square metres. And the price tag is also something that needs to be seen to be believed.

It has never been as easy to put together an impressive OLED light installation than it is today using integrated OLED panels. For example, the Lumiblade Living Shapes illustrated boasts over 1,152 Lumiblade OLEDs built into 72 OLED panels, making it the largest OLED light installation in the world. The ingenious computer control allows a camera in the centre of the installation to record each movement in front of the OLED wall, which it then “translates” into impulses that light up specific individual OLEDs. The installation is perfect for lobbies and waiting rooms for example, or could simply be used as a work of art at home. When in text mode, the OLED wall transforms into an oversized display panel. Words move across the OLEDs, flashing or fading, depending on requirements or intended purpose.

One Response to “Philips Lumiblade Living Shapes world largest OLED light installation”

  1. I personally feel that MSNBC and CNN give news in an unbiased manner, but I have noticed that a lot of conservatives believe differently. I have noticed Fox news anchors give Jon Stewart a hard time based on his show, even though it isn’t a news show and have watched some of them admit that they give their news based on their right wing beliefs. I don’t think any news show should give out news based on their own personal beliefs. How do you feel about this?
