PVI delay color e-paper launch to 2010

PVI (Prime View International) must delay ttheir color e-paper introduction to 2010.
There are still barriers to achieving satisfying results, according to the company.
PVI supplies the 9.7-inch EPD for the Amazons just released e-book reader Kindle DX.
But this epaper can only show grayscale text and images.
The color e-paper PVI is developing uses E Ink technology and color filters.
There are also some rumors that Sony want to introduce a coloured ebook reader to compete against Amazons Kindle.
company has pushed back the launch until 2010 having encountered “barriers to achieving satisfactory results”. To make up for the disappointment, however, PVI have tipped a larger ebook reader from Sony later in 2009, to compete with the recently-announced Amazon Kindle DX.
Flexible Displays are paper-like computer displays made almost entirely of plastic. This technology enables displays to become easily portable and consumes less power than today’s computer displays. Popular applications for the technology could include electronic paper and signage.
