According to industry insiders the major korean companies Samsung and LG-Display want to produce large OLED panels for television from 8.5G lines in 2012.

Because the demand for LCD-Tvs is weak, the companies must develop and publish new technologies and products to the market.
LG Display want to introduce a 55 inch OLED-Tv in mid 2012, and also the company develop white light OLED panel that can be used for LCD-Tv backlight instead of LED.

Maybe the companies want to deliver together 55 inch OLED panels to APPLE?

For a few months there are rumors that Apple want to buy 55 inch OLED-Television devices from LG-Display. Now this new information can be true if Apple signed a deal with both companies. One thing is sure Apple work on an Television device, and what we also know Apple want a special device.

Only LG-Display can not produce so much panels for Apple, so this make sense……

Samsung Mobile Display starts this year with the first 5.5G line but this line produce only small/medium OLED panels for the smartphone/tablet-pc market.
