Samsung and Sonys reduce capital at S-LCD joint venture focus on OLED

Samsung and Sony will reduce its capital by the S-LCD joint venture by 555 million dollar.

Sony has some troubles because of the earthquake the japanese company buys 1.2 million units of LCD panels every month from the S-LCD joint venture.
With the overall demand for LCD displays set to shrink further, Samsung and Sony are likely to gradually wind up the business and focus instead on OLED.

The demand for LCD panels is very low, because of the earthquake in Japan, and the sectors overall shift in focus to OLED-Displays.
