Samsung believe 50 percent of all mobile phones within next five years are coming with OLED Displays
In an report from reuters Samsung mobile believes that 50 percent of major portable devices like mobile phones, digital cameras, navigations and digital media players are coming with touchscreens.
It said growing smartphone sales and touchscreen adoptions would boost sales of Amoled Displays, a small but fast-growing display segment. The main problem for the OLED panels are a shorter life span and a hight prices that are the drawbacks. OLED panels are seen as a promising next generation display as they are thinner and offer higher quality pictures.
OLED screens could appear on 50 percent of all mobile phones within next five years, said Samsung Mobile Display, the world's No. 1 maker of active-matrix OLED.
The market share of AMOLED handsets will increase to 37.5% in 2015 from 2.3% in 2009, according to Samsung Mobile Display VP Woo Jong Lee
OLEDs could also be used by 20 percent of digital cameras and 30 percent of portable game players in the same period, it added.
Thats really true Samsung announced in the last weeks many mobile phone with AM-OLED Displays.
