Samsung Electronics shows 31 and 14-inch AM-OLED-TV Panel but Sony strikes back with XEL-2 at CES-2008?
Samsung Electronics has developed the first 31-inch AM OLED TV in the world with the new unit set to be displayed for the first time at the 2008 CES Expo in Las Vegas. And also a official from Samsung said that Samsung shows a 14-inch AM-OLED-TV Panel. At the CES-2007 Sony shows some 11-inch (the prototyp of the XEL-1 and a 27-inch OLED Panel)
Until now Sony does not speak about the CES-2008 Show in Las-Vegas. But I don´t believe that Sony want to steal the show from Samsung. So does Sony show us some bigger OLED Panel or a new model --> maybe the XEL-2?
We have the technological ability to make 40-inch AM OLEDs but we should wait until 2010 to mass produce large AM OLEDs at a reasonable price," said one official of Samsung.
Samsung SDI presented 17-inch AMOLED TV set at KES 2006. The panel is only 1.8mm thick and the TV set is just thin as 12mm. It features a brightness of 400 candela, a contrast ratio of 1,000:1 and 170 viewing angle.
