Samsung announced yesterday in Korea a new 3g full touchscreen mobile phone called HAPTIC AMOLED. The Haptic does have the new high resolution WVGA 800×480 pixel 3.5 inch AMOLED Display from Samsung Mobile
Unlike LCD the AMOLED has 180-degree viewing angle, and the power consumption can be reduced by up to 66 %.
The Haptic AMOLED phone will be sold via Korea’s three mobile operators – SK Telecom, KT and LG Telecom for about 700 Dollars.
Shin Jong-kyun, executive vice president of Samsung, said at the launch that AM-OLED display will create new demand… Driven by demand, price issues will be soon overcome!
The Haptic features DivX, and supports supports high-quality video formats such as H.264, MPEG4, and AC-3. Adopting Haptic UI 2.0 version, it features ‘One-finger Zoom’ function, T-DMB, a 5M camera, Bluetooth, navigation support and more.
