Samsung Mobile Display sets up a joint venture with Ube Kosan

Samsung Mobile Display ramp up a joint venture with the japanese company Ube Kosan. Ube Kosan develop important materials for flexible OLED displays.

The joint venture has a starting capital of 19.4 billion won. 50% of the shares are held by Samsung Mobile Display and the rest by Ube Kosan. It is going to work on a type of polyimide not expanding or deforming at a high temperature and various future-oriented display products based on the substrates using the polyimide. The two will build production facilities in Samsung’ industrial complex in Tangjeong, Asan City, South Chungcheong Province, once the development is finished.
