Verizon has made it official: the long-awaited Samsung Omnia II is going to be released early in December.

This soon-to-be-released smartphone will boast a number of enhancements over the original version.

It will still have a tablet shape like its predecessor, but with a 3.7-inch, WVGA (800 by 480), AM-OLED touchscreen. The current model has a smaller, lower-resolution touchscreen.

On top of Windows Mobile will be the second version of Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface, which has been developed to make smartphones easy to control with a fingertip.
