Samsung launched a whole host of new mobile phones at the Mobile World Congress, and most of them does have a OLED display included but the biggest attraction was the Omnia HD, which can record video in HD resolution and play it on an HD-ready TV.
It will offer the world’s first 720p HD video recording and decoding on a mobile phone, as well as the world’s largest active-matrix OLED screen. Still, with a resolution of 640 by 360 pixels, the 3.7-inch screen won’t be able to play HD video at its full resolution, even if it can record it.
To handle the recording job, the OmniaHD will have an 8 MPx camera, while the AMOLED display will offer strong colors even in direct sunlight, while using less power.
Gizmodo.com about the OLED Screen:
The quality of this QHD 16:9 screen is simply mindblowing. I haven’t seen any telephone—-or any other device, for that matter—which such a clear, colorful screen. The vision angle is amazing, and no matter how much you turn it, the color and contrast remain the same!
