Galaxy-S vs Iphone-4
Steve Jobs says on Monday that the LCD IPS Retina Display in the new Iphone 4 is much better than an AMOLED display. Samsung mobile display hit back and make a statement about this:Samsung say the much-hyped Retina display consumes around 30 percent more battery power than the Super AM-OLED display. Steve Jobs says that the resolution is much higher than any other display in an smartphone. But the truth is that the difference to the Super Amoled in the Galaxy S is only 3 to 5 percent.
The Samsung mobile display spokesman says also that:
Structurally, IPS LCD technology cannot catch up with AM-OLED display technology!!
An OLED display features a thinner screen with clearer images better contrast ratio and consumes less power than conventional screens.
The LCD based on IPS technology boasts a wide viewing angle of 80 percent, but AMOLED offers a free viewing angle.
