In an Interview with the Wall Street Journal, the vice president from Samsung Mobile Display Lee Woo-Jong says that “Every manufacturer can use Super-Amoled Displays in their products”
The new OLED Panel production line starts mid June 2011 and boost the capacity from 3 million to 30 million small panels per month.
Also the statement about the AMOLED shortage is a little surprise, Lee said that:
Samsung Electronics flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S, doesn’t get priority over other customers, and that the shortage has affected everyone equally.
The Amoled device market grow by 35 times to 700 million units by 2015.
Mr Lee is happy that the OLED business is now profitable after years of heavy investment.
