Samsung Mobile Display (SMD) will develop a AMOLED Display which is unbreakable, valuable, innovative and safe. Samsung want to reach this goal by switching to AMOLED plastic panel on the universal board. Samsung want to produce this kind of panel within two years.

SMD plans to place a TFT (thin film transistor) on the plastic panel and to replace the existing vinyl protection sheet with PI (polyimide) film to avoid residue upon light emission.
The growing demand for thinner and lighter plastic AMOLED panel by the mobile phone market is also an important factor to monitor.
