SK Telecom and Samsung SDI announced on June 12 that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that outlines plans for technology cooperation by adopting Samsung SDI’s active matrix organic light-emitting diodes (AMOLEDs) for SK Telecom’s mobile phone screens, with the aim of offering high-definition satellite digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) and video content. With this strategic partnership, both companies agreed to make all-out efforts to collaborate to develop AMOLED optimization technology of satellite DMB and moving image content and graphical user interface (GUI) that can be used exclusively in AMOLED-adopted mobile handsets.
