Samsung Mobile Display SMD ramp up its new 5.5 Gen AMOLED production line for small to medium size panels in June 2011.
The size of a 5.5 gen fab is 1300x1500mm, now Samsung mobile display plans to introduce a new method to produce larger OLED panels without cutting the glass substrate.
With this process SMD does not need to cut the glass substrate so they can produce OLED-TV panels up to 65 inch.
Until now a 5.5 Gen Glass substrate has to be cut minimal three times, so the largest OLED-TV panel was 32 inch.
Samsung plan to ramp up this technology in its new 5.5 Gen A3 production fab in Tangjeong in 2012.

SMD sproduction lines in the near future:

A1 (Cheonan), 4.5 generation (730 × 920 mm), 2 division specializes in mobile deposition Q4 2007
A2 (Tangjeong), 5.5 generation (1300 × 1500 mm), 4 split deposition mobile and IT for 2011 2nd quarter panel
A3 (Tangjeong), 5.5 generation (1300 × 1500 mm), disc deposition in 2012 to 65 inches OLED-TV panel production available
