LG plans to invest 400 billion won in 2012 to ramp up mass production for Organic light emitting diode panels. LG plans to convert a existing LCD production line to OLED. But this takes some time LG thinks the production line could be ready in 18 months. A brand new line will cost 2.5 times more! LG plans to start with a monthly shipment of 48.000 55 inch devices.
