Sony XEL-1 comes to US for 2000$, Video from the 27-inch OLED-TV


Sony showcased OLED TVs at CES-2008. Proponents say they could potentially replace LCD and plasma TVs.
Sony said it would immediately start selling an 11-inch version of the 3-millimeter thick TV for about $2,500.
Sony's newly announced XEL-1 Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) television is actually available for sale in Sony Style stores effective immediately, according to Sony chairman and CEO Sir Howard Stringer. The TV is the first OLED television to ship in North America.
"You are going to see us do bigger sizes down the road. It is a new technology that is going to take several year before it competes with plasma and LCD," said Glasgow.
