Sony tell us today that the XEL-1 is available before Christmas for 3.500 Euros. This is a litlle surprise because in the USA the XEL-1 costs about 2.100 Dollar. The XEL-1 television has received a positive reception from consumers in Japan and so an expansion of sales into other markets is being considered. Sony’s probable move is sure to form the first wave of highly lucrative next-generation TV sets – OLEDs, for example, are predicted to sell close to 3 million units in 2012.
