Sony Ericsson Equinox Phone with OLED screen
Is flip still hip? The question Sony Ericsson will find out in the coming months as it prepares to launch its flashy Equinox cell phone. With today’s obsession with anything smartphone and touch screen, some people are questioning Sony Ericsson’s decision to create a flip phone. To top it all off, the Equinox comes only with mediocre features: a 2.2-inch QVGA screen, 3.2-megapixel camera, 3G, Bluetooth, and a standard number pad for dialing.
iSuppli: OLED TV revenues to rise by a factor of 200
Shipments of OLED TV panels will account for only a tiny portion of the global TV market during the next six years, despite a nearly 200 times increase in AMOLED panel revenues during the same period, according to iSuppli. Consumers are turned on by the bright, clear pictures produced by OLED TVs, but they are tuning out to the smaller-sizes and prohibitively high prices of these sets.
Samsung talk about AM-OLED growth
Samsung Mobile Display expects the usage of the new generation of AM-OLED screens in mobile devices that includes cellphones to grow significantly throught the coming years. According to Choi Yun-ho, Senior Vice-President at the 50-50 joint venture between Samsung Electronics and Samsung SDI annouced Reuters in an Interview that 1.5 % of this year and then growing up to 10% in 2012 and 30% in 2015. Not just in Mobile phones, AM-OLED also go through a number of digital cameras and low-costs netbook PCs - which I will surely loved!
