MicroOled to start mass production of silicon-based OLED microdisplay in 2009

MicroOLED SA a spin-off from the CEA-Leti research institute, said it will start mass production of its silicon-based OLED microdisplay by the end of 2009.

Fraunhofer Ipms to show first Bidirectional Microdisplay OLED on CMOS

For the first time ever, OLEDs and OLED-on-CMOS integration offer the possibility to integrate highly efficient light sources with photo detectors on a single CMOS chip.

So what does this mean? The main application is that this device can show an image and, at the same time, track the movement of the users eye.

Who need this?

eMagin show power efficient OLED Microdisplays at SID 2009

eMagin is showcasing its power efficient OLED-XL™ microdisplay portfolio as components and subsystems, as well as integrated into commercial products and modules. These displays meet the needs of military and commercial near-eye applications ranging from night-vision headsets and scopes to mobile command and control, communications, training and simulation. Due to the innate ability of OLED materials to efficiently produce their own light, each pixel of a display is its own light source thereby eliminating the need for wasting light energy at dimmed or off pixels.

Emagin show new low power AMOLED Microdisplays with the new SXGA OLED-XL

eMagin Corporation is demonstrating the low power advantage of its active matrix OLED microdisplays with the new SXGA OLED-XL™ at EcoFocus being held April 29 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York, NY. Using a fraction of the power of comparably-sized LCD displays, eMagin OLED microdisplays promise reduced power costs for mobile entertainment, night vision goggles, and medical, industrial and military simulation/training.

eMagin Posts Record Earnings and show new OLED microdisplays

Revenue for the three and twelve months ended December 31, 2008, of approximately $5.3 million and $18.7 million represent increases of 14 % and 7 % from $4.6 million and $17.6 million in 2007. Improved gross margins are a result of strong production volume and improved yields, and increased R & D contract revenue fueled the reported growth, resulting in eMagin's highest earnings in the Company's history.

MicroOLED announcing Milestone For 3D Mobile Video And Gaming

MicroOLED, a developer of efficient organic light emitting diode technologies (OLED),has announced the release of a new high-definition multimedia interface allowing its high-resolution microdisplays to connect to the Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) OMAP™ platform.
