Canon still working on SED-Tv filed two new patents


On 30. April 2009 Canon filed two new SED-Display related patents at the US Patent & Trademark Office.
The patent descibe a solution on how electric fields in SEDs can be reduced in their size, and also a way to improve picture quality. There are also some rumors that Canon will be focus the broadcast market for their SED-TV Displays.

Canon clear to launch cost competitive SED-TVs


Canon, the Japanese consumer electronics group, is clear to launch a new type of television after winning a patent lawsuit that has delayed its progress for more than three years.

Nasdaq-listed Applied Nanotech, which had sued the Japanese company for illegally sublicensing its patents, announced that it had decided not to appeal to the US Supreme Court. "It would probably be a futile effort," said Douglas Baker, Applied Nanotech's chief financial officer.
