The market research company Displaybank announced a
report about transparent displays.Displaybank suggest that the transparent display market grow to 87.2 billion dollars by 2025.
Sarah Han, senior analyst at Displaybank noted “transparent displays have many possible applications such as windows for buildings or automobiles and show window for shopping mall. Not just with the display’s own functional aspect, transparency, but the transparent display gathers industry-wide attentions as one of the future displays that can be utilized as information display.” Samsung Mobile Display showcased at the CES-2011 the world largest transparent OLED Displays.
OLED display is transparent that transparent display is possible by making both electrodes transparent through narrowing thickness of cathode. If LCD and OLED continue to improve on their obstacles through continuous technological development, we expect these technologies to affirm their positions within transparent display.”
Transparent display is set to be unveiled in 2012 to the market and Displaybank expects transparent display through both replacement and new market creation, to reach about 1.17 billion in unit and $87.2 billion in terms of revenue.
