This panels are the first color tunable OLED lighting panels with 14×14 cm 1000 candela, 28 lm/w by 8000 hours of lifetime.
They will also have a dimming and toning function allowing users to switch between seven toning colours and four shades of white.
Mitsubishi Chemical Holding Group and its European subsidiary Verbatim announced yesterday that they will start selling sample kits of the large lighting panels, dubbed Velve, at the end of this month in Europe, North America, Japan and Asia Pacific.
This panels with a basic control will go on sale in Japan for 1,000.- USD. The price for europe is not available at this time.
Mitsubishi want to start the full scale production and sales in July. The companies developed a new coating technique to replace the traditional vapour deposition system, which is more suited to mass production.
The goal is to reach 2.2 billion Dollar in 2015.
