The worldwide AMOLED shipments reach 73.7 million panels at the end of 2011. In 2010 the worldwide shipments are about 47.4 million panels. Isupplis forecast says that in 2012 the Amoled market will grow very robust to 110 percent. This double the AMOLED production to more than 150.000.000 OLED panels mostly for the smartphone, handheld, tablet-pc market.
In 2015 more than 297 million panels should be sold from the panel manufacturer.
In that case Chinas companies want to participate from this market and some companies want to ramp up OLED production lines.Irico want to start mass production in 2012, Visionix in 2013 and also the BOE technology group want to invest 3.4 billion dollar.
Chinas companies want to compete against the major key players Samsung Mobile Display and LG-Display, and AU Optronics, RitDisplay, ChiMei Innolux from Taiwan.
With this performance we think that it is possible that we can see a Apple product with AMOLED. If Apple can choose two manufacturer with the same technical performance it is possible that the Iphone-5 can be with an AMOLED Display.
