OLED technology is yet to invade the automotive industry with the most anticipated XTS Platinum Concept. This AWD hybrid which was recently launched in Detroit will take the place of the STS/DTS.
As perceived by some, this is GM’s Epsilon II FWD customized version. According to Cadillac, the XTS Platinum uses the combination of AWD powertrain and GM’s direct-injected 3.6L V-6 engine. Together with this is also an electric motor. If combined, these will be able to take the place of the then famous V-8 powered luxury sedan. Further, Cadillac said that the car is able to run only in electric power and the battery should be recharged to around five hours.
Meanwhile, XTS though not yet out is expected to be the trend setter when it comes to luxury cars. As said, it as different OLED technologies making it prove its Platinum name. It has the OLED touch screens as replacement of the center stack controls and the gauges. This OLED technology also takes the place of the car’s infotainment system. This gives both the driver and the passengers comfort while they set up their chosen displays.
Outer part of the car revels more of Cadillac’s sense of fashion with its LED headlights, 20 inch wheels and taillights. With its door handles that light whenever the car enters or goes out from a large gateway, LED also plays the very sophisticated role.
As this car continues to get the media’s attention, Cadillac also made an announcement to make each car either a V-series trim level or Platinum model for the next years. This just means that OLED technologies will soon be expected for every Cadillac creation.
